“I am so grateful for HLBS; their generosity has honestly been a godsend. I’m a single mother who left a very abusive ex-husband and am now raising our child alone. We started over from scratch and were received with a loving embrace and open arms by the HLBS community.
They have helped us with food, school supplies, school uniforms, and provided hot lunches for my child at his school, gracing us with some much-needed respite while we get back into our feet, so my child can focus on studying and other extra-curricular activities. HLBS have organized parties and been there to support us in a kind, friendly and non-judgemental way that I will never forget. I am filed with emotion just writing this, and just so so so grateful for everything these lovely ladies have done for us this past year. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.”

I’m truly grateful for the (HLBS) bursary I received during my final semester at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University. It allowed me to cover tuition, reduce financial stress, and focus entirely on my studies. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in International Business with a minor in Economics.
The bursary played a key role in helping me reach this point. During my time at Concordia, I completed internships at Bombardier, Pratt & Whitney, and launched my own wellness company, Hive Puppy Yoga. I’m now actively seeking full-time opportunities and planning to pursue a Master’s degree in either Business Law or Marketing. Thank you for your support—it truly helped me get to where I am today.
