Welfare Program

The Welfare Program has been providing assistance and support to the Hellenic community’s less fortunate in the Greater Montreal area since 1922. READ MORE

Summer Camp Program

The aim of the HLBS Camp Program is to assist children who do not have the financial means to participate in extracurricular activities in day and sleep-away summer and winter camps. READ MORE

Educational Assistance Program

Through this program, we assist families with school supplies, school supervision fees, lunch fees, uniforms, tutoring, fees for extra-curricular activities, computers, etc. The assistance provided helps to ensure a positive, successful school year for the child. READ MORE

Bursary Program

Through this program, eligible youth of Hellenic descent are provided with financial assistance to pursue their post-secondary academic education, vocational studies, sports training, or training in the Creative/Performing Arts.

Who We Are

The Hellenic Ladies Benevolent Society is an autonomous, chartered, non-profit organization that came into existence in Montreal on November 25th, 1922. The mandate of this body, the first of its kind in North America, is to help the needy within the Hellenic community of Greater Montreal.
