The Hellenic Ladies Benevolent Society’s Family Christmas Luncheon was held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the magnificent 40 Westt Steakhouse & Bar in Pointe Claire.

Once again the event was sold-out! Over 260 adults and 27 children enjoyed the warm and festive Christmas celebration at this fabulous venue. We were so pleased to reach record attendance knowing that many underprivileged families in the Hellenic Community would enjoy their holidays even more this year as the proceeds from this event will offer them supplementary assistance for food and clothing.

We owe a heartfelt “Thank You” to our 5 Sponsors for their generosity and commitment to our cause:

BMO – Caroline Lussier, Jamal Khalil, Stella Tsarnas
RBC – Tony Loffreda
VVS Films – Ernie Grivakis
Karambatsos Lawyers – Chris Karambatsos
Lanvac – Georgoudes Family

There was a Silent Auction, several raffle prizes and a Christmas Boutique with wonderful items for purchase. The appearance of Santa Claus always provides a lot of excitement and gifts for the children present.

Our invited guests, Rena Papathanakou and Michael Tellides, were honoured for their forty-nine years of dedication and commitment to our ‘Marathon Agapi’ Radiothon event which funds our Welfare Program for the needy in our community.

Angela Argiriou of Elysée Furs presented her stunning fur coats, jackets and accessories at preferential rates. Fur sales during and after the event bring in additional contributions to the HLBS.

A special thank you to all of our guests for their continued support and generosity!

HLBS President, Viola Vathilakis, Social Committee Chair, Belle Grivakis, event Co-Chairs, Dina Kefallinos, Nitza Melas and Maggie Pagonis along with their Organizing Committee, were thrilled with the success of the luncheon raising approximately $18,000.

Respectfully,
Matina Bisbikos-Priftakis
PR Chair
